Remember it
on exam day.

Lacuna schedules revision around the day you need it. It prioritises the cards a review can help most by your exam.

How these example predictions work

Example reviews took place 14, 13 and 7 days ago. The solid history and future curves use Lacuna’s FSRS-6 model: recall falls between reviews, and each review updates memory stability. The shaded region is a projection, assuming no reviews after today. The increase is predicted exam-day recall after a successful review today. In the default exam mode, eligible cards with the greatest predicted gain take priority. Your answers update the estimates; these are not predicted exam marks.

The context stays with the cards.

A lesson gives an idea its context. Cards help you retrieve it. Questions let you practise using it.

For teachers. A course link, not a class of logins.

Share the lessons, notes and practice together. Students import the course and build their own revision history.

No teacher or student accounts

Create your course. Share its link or QR code. Students open it, check the contents and import.

One course, ready for everyone

Send it through the channels your class already uses. There is no class roster to set up in Lacuna.

Open course sharing
Teach a course, not a pile of sets.

Lessons keep explanations and practice connected. Students can see their progress across the course.

Each student studies at their own pace.

Reviews adapt to their answers. Study progress stays on their device; sharing does not create a teacher gradebook.

Keep the material up to date.

Updates to existing cards retain their review history. Sharing and updates need a connection; larger courses can travel as a course file.

A little less between you and revision.

The useful questions.

Is Lacuna free?

Core revision is free and open source, with no subscription. Jev automatic marking currently requires a beta access code; it is optional. You can create, import and study without it.

Does Quizlet have spaced repetition?

Yes. Quizlet documents recall-based spaced repetition on its website. Lacuna uses FSRS-6 and offers exam-focused scheduling as well as steady retention.

Can I move my Quizlet sets?

You can export terms and definitions from sets you created on the Quizlet website, then paste the text into Lacuna. Images, copied sets and review history are not included in that transfer.

Will it work without Wi-Fi?

After the app assets and material have loaded, local study works offline. Embedded online content, hosted AI, course sharing and device sync require an internet connection.

Do I have to set an exam date?

No. Choose steady retention for ongoing study, or set an assessment date when you have a deadline.

Where does my study data live?

On your device, in local browser storage or the desktop app. Optional device sync uses encrypted relay payloads. Export a full backup before clearing browser data or changing devices.

Is Lacuna finished?

Lacuna is in beta. Expect an evolving product, and keep backups of important study material. It does not have Quizlet’s public set library, classroom games or expert textbook catalogue.
